Sembmarine SLP donated £600 to D.I.A.L.

On Friday 27th October 2017, Sembmarine SLP Ltd. Held their latest Safety Observation Scheme (SOS) charity awards, where cheques amounting to £18,000 were given to 14 charities.

The charitable donations are made possible through the SOS scheme which encourages employees, contractors and visitors to keep safety conscious and actively look out for unsafe acts or conditions and to take action to prevent accidents and incident occurring. In return SLP contribute to a charity fund as a reward for safe working. SLP clients are also encouraged to contribute and Maersk Oil UK, whose Power Generation Module and two bridge links are currently being constructed by SLP for the Culzean Field development, have been supporting SLP to top up the fund.

The awards, which took place at the Orbis Centre in Lowestoft, were attended by representatives of the charities, members of SLP staff and representatives from MOUK. SLP employees, subcontractors and clients were asked to nominate local charities or causes which they wanted to see benefit from the scheme, and D.I.A.L. was one of the chosen charities to receive £600.

17th July 2015:

We are in need of your help!

D.I.A.L Lowestoft & Waveney are £10,000 short of the funding we need to continue running our valued and vital service for disabled people.

Which is why we’re turning to you, our users, to help us in any way you can.

If you would like to donate, please speak to one of our advisors, or visit our LocalGiving page at:

Could you all do us the favour of posting this and spreading the news to all your contacts, friends and family in the hope that they will send it to more people and so on. If everyone gave us a minimum of £10 each the money would grow and we could hopefully continue our service.

Any larger donations would be fantastic.

 Please start the ball rolling….

 25th March 2015:

Clive Mann has decided to complete a skydive to raise funds for D.I.A.L Lowestoft & Waveney. Clive has written a statement for everyone:

So I’ve decided to jump out of a plane at 13,000 foot plunging down to earth at speeds of over 120 mph, for charity…

Not just any charity, the wonderful DIAL. Every penny donated to DIAL is so vital to supporting the local community.

D.I.A.L. offers a free impartial and confidential service. They provide information, advice, advocacy and representation services to all disabled people living in Lowestoft, Waveney and North Suffolk. They can also advise carers and professionals to help people overcome the day-to-day problems of disability.

I would love to see any of you on Saturday 25th July 2015 at Beccles Airfield, and would really appreciate any donation, however large or small. Thank you!
